Weighing on the emerging markets were expectations of a further rise in U.S. yields on a likely strong reading for U.S. consumer inflation for March, on the heels of a more-than-expected rise in U.S. producer prices. A slew of much stronger-than-expected U.S economic data has suggested that corporate profits would jump tandem with the rebounding economy, especially in those sectors most deeply impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
