Chứng khoán Úc đóng cửa giảm điểm thứ Ba, do lo ngại về số ca nhiễm COVID-19 ở Victoria đã phủ bóng tối lên sự lạc quan về việc NHTW tái khẳng định quan điểm giữ chính sách nới lỏng.

Chứng khoán và tiền tệ Malaysia và Philippineskhác xa so với các thị trường khác tăng điểm của châu Á dẫn đầu bởi Hàn Quốc và Đài Loan vào thứ Ba, khi các hạn chế của chính quyền địa phương chiến đấu với đại dịch đã châm lửa cho lo lắng về việc sẽ có thêm thiệt hại kinh tế. Hầu hết các thị trường châu Á khởi đầu tháng Sáu theo hướng tích cực.

Cho đến nay, các thị trường ưa rủi ro của châu Á đã trụ vững khi FED tái khẳng định rằng áp lực giá được cho là tạm thời và chính sách tiền tệ sẽ vẫn được duy trì ôn hòa một thời gian. Sự hồi phục mạnh của Mỹ vẫn bị nghi ngờ rằng điều này duy trì được bao lâu. 

Japan’s benchmark indexended slightly lower on Tuesday as investors awaited two key U.S. economic reports, though declines were capped by hopes of a domestic economic normalisation on delayed-but-steady rollouts of COVID-19 vaccines. Among shares and sectors in Japan, steel and drug makers led the Nikkei’s declines, with JFE Holdings falling 4.32% and Nippon Steel losing 3.36%.

South Korean sharesrallied for a third straight session on Tuesday, as investors lapped up stellar exports data and factory activity, implying stronger growth for Asia’s fourth-largest economy.  South Korean exports logged their sharpest expansion in 32 years in May, marking another robust month of shipments, fuelled by stronger consumer demand globally as many economies start to reopen.

China stockseked out gains on Tuesday, helped by strength in healthcare firms, as investors cheered Beijing’s latest three-child policy after recent data showed a dramatic decline in births in the world’s most populous country.

European stockshit fresh record highs on Tuesday, as strong metal and oil prices boosted shares of big commodity companies, while data showed euro zone manufacturing activity expanded at a record pace in May. The survey suggested growth would have been even faster without supply bottlenecks that have led to an unprecedented rise in input costs. 

US Stocks were mixed midday Tuesday after paring gains, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 up but the Nasdaq composite down mildly. The Dow Jones industrials rose 0.4%, the S&P 500 edged up nearly 0.1%, and the Nasdaq fell 0.2% in the stock market today. Small caps tracked by the Russell 2000 gained nearly 0.7%. Volume was higher on both major exchanges vs. the same time Friday.
